Cactus Outdoor

Cactus Outdoor is an iconic New Zealand apparel company designing and making various tough, no-nonsense outdoor gear, clothing and workwear. Born in 1992, Cactus’ early days were focused on creating climbing gear for the Cactus Crew in their own outdoor pursuits. Fast forward three decades and Cactus is well established in the apparel sector, making products for those who work in the toughest of environments. Cactus creates products that are built to last, with an emphasis on good materials, quality manufacturing and customer experience.​ In 2019, Cactus acquired Albion Clothing, the largest clothing manufacturer in New Zealand. Albion has a 45-year history making garments and currently manufactures for FENZ, the NZ Police, NZDF, and Cactus along with a bunch of New Zealand fashion brands. Albion Clothing employees around 100 team members in its company-owned factory in Christchurch, and also uses a network of third-party manufacturers domestically and offshore. Both companies are certified social enterprises and Cactus has worked with the Ministry of Social Development to create jobs for migrants and refugees within their Christchurch-based factory. Cactus operates four retail stores across New Zealand, as well as selling both domestically & internationally online and via B2B channels.
